Regardless of which candidate(s) you support in the dwindling Democratic presidential field, the current flood of headlines is pretty rough for anyone who's not a cisgender white man. Of course a woman can fucking win, but whether it’s erasing her from polls or playing to the electability narrative or the ruthless stereotypes that she’s just too aggressive or not pure enough, women have had it much harder on the road to the White House.
But this is not a rant about inequity or misogyny. It’s an impassioned appeal for us to not settle for the most ‘electable’ option and continue to fight for the candidates who will best represent our values and the whole of who we are.
Octavia Butler warned us…
“Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that coward fears. To be led by a fools is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a their is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be lied to. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those your love into slavery.”
We deserve more than mediocrity. Let us be led by our hearts. Let us be led by courage. And, god willing, let us win.
The argument that Warren should drop out rests on a few assumptions that could very well be mistaken. Here’s a case for Warren staying viable and helping build progressive power heading into 2020. [click to tweet]

“Be a Lady” is the must-see viral video that demonstrates the impossible standards of being a woman today. And it gives context to the misogyny Warren has faced from mainstream media and mediocre white men (ahem, Chris Matthews). Real talk. [click to tweet]
There's so much inaccurate information floating around out there about the Coronavirus that the World Health Organization is calling it an ‘Infodemic’. Here are the most common myths and what you can do (wash your fucking hands). [click to tweet]
Today, SCOTUS heard a case that threatens every person’s right to make their own health care decisions. Their ruling could dismantle Roe v Wade and significantly restrict the ability of healthcare providers to provide basic reproductive health. We told you this day would come. [click to tweet]
This week, SCOTUS is hearing arguments for one of three cases that could critically impact reproductive freedom in the US. June Medical Services LLC v. Russo is the biggest threat to abortion rights in recent history. But just because the court is stacked against us doesn’t mean we stop fighting. Here’s how we can #DefendRoe and protect bodily autonomy.

They’re back. 14 years ago, country radio blacklisted the Dixie Chicks for getting political. Now they’re back with a new release to take on gaslighting. Gaslighting is defined as manipulating someone by psychological means into questioning their sanity. It can happen at work, in relationship and, most definitely, in politics. In a time of rampant disinformation and manipulation, gaslighting is thriving. Especially in the White House. Donald Trump has been gaslighting America and making us question our reality since he took office. And it’s happening in this election: hearing “can a woman win?” or “is she electable?” over and over and over again by the mainstream media is enough to make one question reality.
But it’s not just at work or in politics, it’s also happening in wellness. While spiritual gaslighting is often an indicator that the person gaslighting you is unable to deal with their own pain and is projecting it onto you, it's also a method of control designed to uphold systems of power and keep everyone in-line. @RiseUpGoodWitch says "maybe you manifested it, maybe it's white privilege". It's time we tell the difference and reclaim the truth. Here are 15 signs you’re being gaslit and what you can do about it.
244 days until the 2020 election. Here’s where we are: Biden is leading the pack with 566 delegates followed closely by Sanders with 401. But 77% of delegates are still up for grabs. The upcoming primaries on March 10th (MI, MO, MS, WA, ND, ID) and March 17th (FL, IL, AZ, OH) will bring more clarity and direction to the situation. In the meantime, take a deep breath and don’t count anyone out just yet. Warren (aka “the billionaire slayer”) will play a pivotal role in building progressive power and unity. We’ll be breaking it all down in our Patreon member meet up NEXT THURSDAY at 630pm ET. Each month we are coming together to make sense of the election take action to win. Sign up here.
What we’re practicing in between canvassing and phone banking. Thank you @thenapministry for the reminder. This is how we keep going. #RestIsResistance
